Styles and Designs of Oversized Pendant Lights

oversized pendant lights

Oversized pendant lights can create a unique look for a room. These lights come in several styles and designs. Some examples include Isamu Noguchi, Nelson, and Moooi. You can choose one to complement your room’s color scheme or design theme. Other styles feature a broader variety of materials and finishes.

Moooi

Moooi’s non-random lights are lightweight pendant lights that come dripping with epoxy resin. Moooi produces these lamps in the Netherlands, and they’re very popular in contemporary homes. You can find them at Stardust, and they’re also available for pickup in our Sonoma showroom. They typically ship within two to three business days. And they’re available in several different sizes and colours, too.

Moooi is a Dutch design lighting company that focuses on creative and unique designs. The brand works with internationally acclaimed designers to create unusual and innovative lighting. The brand takes inspiration from nature and enjoys creating illumination that echoes the forms of the environment. Its artists have produced everything from floor lamps on horses to rabbit-shaped pendant lights.

Nelson

The Nelson Pendant Light covers the glare of an exposed bulb with a lovely glow. The sculptural form of the light also draws the eye up. These lights are suitable for residential as well as commercial interiors. There is also an x-large version of the light which measures a whopping nine feet long (2.7 meters) and has a diameter of 50 inches (127 cm).

The Nelson Ball Bubble Large Pendant is an exquisite and elegant lamp. Moreover, it doesn’t require a large table for its installation. The rounded pattern of the lamp means that it can fit on any type of table.

Possini

If you’d like to add a little sparkle and style to your kitchen, consider a cluster light. With a wooden base and iron hardware, these fixtures are both functional and stylish. Plus, they’re hand-painted, which means that they’re perfect for modern or farmhouse decor.

Oversized pendant lights can be a dramatic way to illuminate a kitchen island or dining room table. However, be sure that they’re proportionate to the room’s height. One option is to use two oversized pendant lights over one half of an island. You’ll want to measure the height of the ceiling and the height of your island to determine the proper size.

Isamu Noguchi

In 1951, Isamu Noguchi began designing his Akari Light Sculptures. Akari means light in Japanese, and connotes physical lightness as well as illumination. His inspiration came from trips to Japan, where he saw lanterns made of washi paper and bamboo. While in Gifu, he sketched his first two designs. Later, he created hundreds of models. The Akari Light Sculptures range in size from 24 to 290 cm.

Originally from Japan, Isamu Noguchi’s work spanned a variety of mediums, including lighting, furniture, and stage sets. He was also an artist, and designed both indoor and outdoor gardens and plazas. He was also influenced by the organic style of design in the 1950s.

Possini’s Euro White Flower

These gorgeous oversized pendant lights are reminiscent of a blooming flower. The curved plastic petals diffuse light, creating a soft glow. A white ceiling canopy ties the whole fixture together. If you’re not sure which piece to buy, you can use Decorist to create a design for a flat fee.
